How to restore old Sticky notes after a fresh format?

The following tip is applicable only to Windows 7 (32 bit and 64 bit) and Windows 8 (32 bit and 64 bit)

Prior to formatting a desktop PC or a laptop, browse to the location, C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Sticky Notes, and copy the file “StickyNotes.snt” to a USB Stick or even to a shared network location. Format the PC or laptop and once the OS is restored, copy back the User Profile that was backed up (or even a new user profile would do), copy and paste the “StickNote.snt” file to the same location as stated above.

PS: After a fresh installation, one might not find the Sticky Notes folder. This is because the Sticky Notes application was not opened. Open the application at once (by searching for Sticky Notes) and the folder will appear by itself.
